I took a bit of a break over the weekend. Friday night, the Kittens played a benefit show for the Barnabas Project, a fundraising effort to help our church start up a community center, complete with community garden, skate park, after-school programs, a GED class, and other interesting and much-needed things for the community.
We also had friends from afar come to see our show and then hang out all weekend. It was wonderful.
So, even though I didn’t have a chance to post for 30 Days of Creativity, I tried to work in the 30 Days projects unobtrusively, organically.
The Kittens use this jingle shoe for percussion purposes. Consider it a visual representation of Day 3, when the Roaring Kittens played some fun music for some old and new friends.
On Saturday, we took our lovely visitors to an abandoned train bridge. I’m not sure if climbing around on it was totally legal. In our wanderings, I collected some pictures as well as a tick, which I had promptly removed.
It was a lovely day, not too warm, not too sunny. A pleasant sort of overcast.
This strange creature seemed pleased with the weather.
So, I’m going to count these pictures toward my Day 4 count.
I took many other pictures on Day 4, but my Day 5 was consumed with sleeping, brunching, meeting, and helping at church. Perhaps I can count this picture toward Day 5?
These rocks were shinier in real life.
To some degree, I feel like taking pictures (especially since I am not a photographer and mine are far from wonderful) is a bit of a cop out. It seems like an easy way to meet a 30 Days quota, but I hope I continue to make things. I want to really be able to work it into my day seamlessly. Maybe by Day 30 I will have figured out the secret to seeing the creativity in everyday stuff, and have worked out how to make production a part of my day, so it doesn’t feel like a separate project to tackle.
